Training meetings with the population (citizens and elderly)
Short description
“TreC+ (The Trentino Citizens’ Electronic Health Record): what it is, how to access it, services offered and
future developments” is the title of the training course proposed by the Trentino University of the Third Age
and Free time – Franco Demarchi Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of health, social policies,
disability and family of the Autonomous Province of Trento, to its members.
A collaboration between the Province and the University of Third Age and Free Time which aims to ensure
the dissemination of necessary skills that allow citizens, especially elderly people, to interact with digital
tools. In the new 2022-2023 programming period, this initiative proposes, 21 meetings on digital health and
on the local TreC+ platform. These meetings are held in different areas of the territory.
During these training courses, lasting two hours each, the representatives of the Autonomous Province of
Trento illustrate, after an initial presentation of the reference context, the governance and development
model of digital healthcare in the province of Trento also including a reference to the process of
reorganization of the territorial health services in progress.
The TreC+ digital health ecosystem is then presented in detail (what it is, services offered and future
developments), the initiatives in progress, a particular reference to telemedicine and the digital health
interventions envisaged by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, also inviting the participants to install
the application on their mobile phones.
The TreC+ platform is available to all citizens of Trentino, it allows access to personal Electronic Health
Record, and therefore personal health data and documents, access to online health services, including
telemedicine.
In this model it is crucial to guarantee the dissemination of the skills necessary to interact with digital tools
both for operators and for citizens, with particular attention to the elderly population.
Evidence
Contribution to citizen empowerment
Since October 2022, the Autonomous Province of Trento through TrentinoSalute4.0 (which is our Local Competence Center on Digital Health) has been rewarded as a Reference Site of the EIP AHA with the maximum vote of 4 stars and this initiative is trully connected to the committment we have made within this partnership to foster innovation use of digital for active and healthy ageing. Also, these classes are an example of how to help (elderly) people to develop digital skills.
