Digital solution and service (e.g. application/digital health portal/platform/AI based system/etc.)
Short description
The VirtuALL project (Innovation, Ageing, Quality of Life) aims to develop innovative responses with the latest scientific and technological knowledge for the elderly population, contributing to ageing in place and combating ageism. We have the goal to create six ecosystems in Municipalities of Center of Portugal (Cantanhede, Figueira da Foz, Mealhada, Mira, Montemor-o-Velho and Penacova) to promote the active and healthy ageing through the social innovation and technologies. In these ecosystems we will provide different solutions for physical and cognitive stimulation and also for socialization, with the inclusion of an augmented reality gaming platform (PEPE – Portable Exergames Platform for The Elderly), a portable balance and pressure platform with visual biofeedback technology and 2D and 3D games (PhysioSensing) and tablets. The project has also provided capacity building to formal and informal caregivers to use the project tools in order to promote a healthy and active ageing. Almost 1 000 people have already benefited from the project in six municipalities of the central region of Portugal and 20 other municipalities in the region will replicate the model in a LEADER interterritorial cooperation project from 2023.
