TERCS

Twinning for Elderly Cancer Survivors

Originator: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece
Adopter: Oncology Institute “Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuta”, Cluj-Napoca (IOCN), Romania

The twinning will focus on transferring the LifeChamps digital care approach on monitoring older cancer survivors after their treatment. The exchange will equip IOCN with digital tools and technologies that require minimal digital literacy, yet are highly efficient. LifeChamps offers a transformative opportunity for the real-world monitoring of elderly cancer patients and survivors, accounting for almost 50% of cancer cases worldwide, who still lack equal access to proper cancer care tailored to their needs and expectations. Transferring the LifeChamps digital care approach will enhance patient outcomes, contribute to timely adjustments in care plans, and ultimately improve the well-being and QoL of older cancer survivors. The exchange of know-how and the extensive pilot testing of the digital care solution will benefit cancer survivors in Romania. The exercise will allow to map the available resources for the adoption and will highlight the gaps that need to be filled. In addition to the twinning, AUTH aims to engage with the local care and innovation ecosystem and seek for future business opportunities.
